Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series runs on Dunlop

Pure motorsport technology combined with Dunlop's ultra-high performance tyre SP Sport Maxx GT has led to an outstanding performance symbiosis:

For its Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series, Mercedes tuner AMG again relied on tyres from Dunlop, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high and ultra high performance tyres.

With Dunlop, AMG has again chosen the same tyre partner as for its team at the demanding German Touring Car Championship DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen-Meisterschaft), one of Europe’s largest motorsport events.

The powerful two-seater, which continues AMG's successful Black Series strategy, follows the appearance of famous AMG sports cars, such as the DTM CLK-Class or the CLK-GTR from 1997 out of the FIA GT-Series. The AMG 6.0-Liter V12-Biturbo engine with a maximum power of 493 kW (670 hp) promises performance at the highest sports car levels and fulfills the expectations of the most demanding driving enthusiasts.

To deliver this enormous power with a maximum speed of 320 km/h and a torque of 1.000 Nm at 2.000 rpm to the road, Dunlop equipped the 9,5-inch light-alloy rims of the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series with its top performer Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT in the size of 265/35 R 19 (front axle) and 325/30 R 20 (rear axle) to ensure extreme grip and top-end cornering speed.
